Here’s what happened…

It all started in May 2022…

My husband and I found out we were pregnant. We were overcome with joy and I did everthing I could to prepare. Our son arrived in January 2023 and our world changed in the best possible way.

Maternity leave went by in a flash…

I spent every waking moment with my little man, reading about milestones, doing all the activities and making sure he had the best care possible…while also taking care of myself during the postpartum period.

Then my maternity leave ended…

After my maternity leave ended I got hit with a huge question mark: Who was going to watch my 12 week old?!

My parents? My in-laws? Daycare? The waitlist was 18 months. Did I need to quit my job? Could I juggle my newborn and work?! I started searching for a nanny. And didn’t realize it would be that hard.

I didn’t know where to look…

There was no obvious place to find a nanny. Friends said it was word of mouth, but no one knew of anyone… I signed up for paid services that yielded no results. I turned to a local mommy Facebook group and posted what I was looking for.

I thought I was being specific…

I made a post listing that I wanted someone with experience with a newborn, that was ok with dogs, spoke either Spanish or Portuguese and the hourly rate I was willing to pay. I thought I would hit a home run and find the perfect match. Boy, was I wrong.

I was overwhelmed with the results…

After 24 hours, I checked in on my post to see if anyone had responded. I had received 88 messages. Nannies that had only been babysitters for teenagers, that didn’t speak the languages I was looking for, some that only worked with families whose parents worked from an office. And I had to vet them. One. By. One.

Some didn’t answer, some ghosted me and others were obviously not a match. And I did this while returning to 10-hour work days while managing a 12-week old. I was so overwhelmed and thought I couldn’t possibly be the only one going through this.

That’s when the lightbulb moment hit…

Four years before my son was born, I met my husband on a dating app. We never would have met without a platform designed to connect two people looking for the same thing.

Why doesn’t something like this exist for parents & nannies?!

A place where parents and nannies create profiles, set what matters most, and are shown only the best matches. Instead of sorting through tens of profiles, you see just the ones that match. It seemed so obvious yet - didn’t exist. Until now.
